Use of the Space

Women using the building to read and spend time with one another

The Women's Building was intended to provide a space for sorority members to gather since they did not have houses (1).

The space evolved to become a symbol of WashU's support for its female students and to serve as a safe haven for women.

Today, the building still houses the different sororities on campus, but it is also used for events and presentations for topics that are pertinent to female students.
